Peak District Ethels

Are you ready for an Ethel bagging challenge?

The Peak District Ethels are a collection of 95 hills waiting to be explored! They encompass most of the peaks over 400 meters tall within the Peak District National Park, along with some iconic lower hills that are beloved landmarks.

This challenge was dreamt up to honor Ethel Haythornthwaite, a true champion of the Peak District. Nicknamed "The Mother of the Peak Park", Ethel's tireless efforts in the early 20th century played a key role in establishing the Peak District as Britain's first national park in 1951. So, next time you bag an Ethel, you're not just conquering a hill, you're celebrating a conservation pioneer!
